Whipartist, that`s a fine pouch for a fine sling. The simple solution I used on my last 16-strander (test sling - fine pouch - bit too much taper) was to braid the pouch as a split pouch with 4-strand round braid and sew in a simple knit "inlay".
I have used this solution with hemp later too and it works fine and it is rather fast and economical.

I got a 24-strander "in the works", when/if I ever finnish it I`ll name it "Never Ending Story".
I`ll deside the pouch construction on it when I get that far Wink

PS I have started learning some friendship bracelet knotting from Youtube just in case. I got one sling with a twin-crossover-strap pouch made in such a way. It`s made by Eoraptor and works/looks just fine.

Both are similar, 27" 4-strand round braid with sewn-in knitted pouch. One is hemp with supposed flax pouch, the other is thick wool yarn in blue and gray. timann

Tigtly braided and knit, to keep it firm and with little stretch. I`m rather happy with it, it looks rather good, I think, but it is still of Heavy Duty quality, and slings well. timann

I love the patterns on yours, timann.

I made this for the upcoming SITH, but I like it so much I want to keep it. I'll make another for the SITH, it'll be better than this one anyway. This is the first I've made with kumihimo baided arms. The colors didn't show up very well in the pic because the whole sling is lightly colored, but the arms are mostly silver with a white spiral. Pouch is elk hide.

As for color combo`s, many looks great in good light, but if they are to be taken pictures of, on has to mind the contrasts

I usually use leftover knitting yarn people give to me, and can`t always be to picky when it comes to colors Cheesy

Linen and cotton eight strand braid, mostly because it is simple/easy to remember and hard to mess up. Cardboard marudai, maybe I`ll make one for myself, just to learn some more braiding stuff.
Yarn (wool) work much better , and is much more durable, than I ecpected. The trick is to braid it tight, and keep an even tension on the yarns while doing it. Then they become more wear resistant and less elastic.
