It's all about Thatcher, of course, and a "futuristic" fascist Britain, which sounds interesting, if implausible.

undoubtedly you all have heard the story already about the mask, and guy fawkes. how he tried to blow up the parliament building on the fifth of november. but that is supposedly his face or some such. just thought i would mention that.

ps. great movie! i loved it. i have read some bad reviews for it, but i enjoyed it alot. i liked how much it made one think. i am also sure that many of you know that V was originaly a comic book in the 80's. the future in the comic is actualy our past, so they had to adapt the dates for modern day.

Yeah, it was an anti-Thatcherite comic book. It seems a little irrelevant today, maybe, but I have also heard it has been updated. I was going to see it at the weekend, but I heard the Jonathon Ross review (or "weview") of it and was warned against it.
November 5th is our version of July 4th, when Catholics were thwarted from killing James I. Lots of fireworks, bonfires, and Stuart history on TV.

Even me, a (sopposedly ingnorant) american teenager, knows who guy fawks is.
I only saw the advertisment but it looked like a good movie Cheesy

Compulsory id cards not ringing any bells ?
Imprisonment without access to the charges let alone a trial seem fair to you ?

Hell compared to thatcher blair's a raging tyrant.
And as for the homeland security acts in america - well lets just say in 20 years time we'll all either look back on now and laugh at how naive we were to let our governments take our freedoms without a whimper let alone a struggle - or we won't be allowed access to history books and laughing will be a proscribed activity punishable by death.
(slight exaggeration there but you get the idea)

Haven't seen the film yet :-)
