Question about Balearics

I've had a little discussion with JudoP on discord regarding the right side of a balearic pouch to use. He says he uses the side opposite the knee(or opposite the braid side). I've always used the knee/braid side of the pouch, have I been doing it wrong? Is there even a right answer?

I asked the same question here: https://slinging.org/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1753583583

The answer is mixed, but tends towards the knee on the inside of the pouch. I changed my style after the feedback in that thread(my knee is now exclusively on the inside), mainly because of the bump from the belly (if the knee is on the outside) becoming both a wear point as well as interfering with a clean release since it sticks up.

I also wondered about this when I was trying out braided Balearic-style slings.
The answer I got was that the "knee" (the bend) should face toward the stone—that is, inward.
It seems the reason is precisely that the end of the rope being released in this way doesn't wrap around the stone—which would otherwise get in the way when opening the bag—but instead bends away in the opposite direction.
