Tried slinging ice for the first time

First time slinging ice. Have to say love not having to go pick up the ice. “Fire and forget” just like slinging rocks.
Unfortunately ice from the ice maker being a cube shape made very terrible ammo for target practice. Flight path was very inconsistent. The lightweight was also a negative. I would guess large round ice balls would be much better than cube shape.
But still super fun. And cheap too!
Here is how I did today:

Yeah, you need to get spherical molds. Go for 2.5 inch diameter. They'll be the same size as a tennis ball, and right around twice the weight. Great ammo!
Here's a 100-Round with them if you haven't see this one:

Yes, ice is a very interesting type of projectile!
I managed to find several different shapes on sale. I liked the longer ones best.
Both are 4.5 cm in diameter, while the elongated ones are about 7.5 cm long.

On a related subject: Should be snow on the ground in a few months. Do you guys throw snowballs and if so how do you make a football/glande shaped snowball?

I've found snowballs tend to self-destruct upon release due to the spin

When it's minus outside..snow cannot be molded, it does not hold its shape and the snowball crumbles. It is much more convenient to throw ice balls

Slinging snowballs can be fun, but don't put too much into it. They're light, usually don't fly that great, and like irgendeinekiwi said they're prone to just come apart.
Just form them with your hands, sling them, laugh and feel merry. That's it.
