A.  The spliced loops look so much better than tying knots! No weight and so smooth!  Great job!! Splicing is the way to go if you know how to do that. On my next one I make I am changing from the figure 8 follow thru knot to the perfection loop knot just to make the knots lighter and also to center the loops on the release/retention lines.  Still won’t look as nice as your splices but might look better than what I was doing.


B.  The woven center has to be stronger than whipping. Thats a definite improvement. Really I think your pouch may be indestructible….so that overcomes the design flaw the pouch could separate into two loops on any given throw due to the whipping failing.



C.  The discussion so far suggests the weight added to the center of the pouch is beneficial. So any idea of the weight of your center?  My WCW whipping is about 30” of paracord. You added extra paracord (10”-12”???) by “figure eighting” the loops PLUS you added the black cord for the weave. There is more material for sure but I don’t know if there is more weight.


D. I guess the other difference is the size of your pouch. Your pouch has a much larger contact patch. No idea if this is better or not. But it is different.  Your pouch does look cosmetically so much nicer for sure! I was thinking eliminate the WCW whipping and stack ranger beads instead…..beads would be more uniform but would still stick out a bunch from the tennis ball surface.  Your pouch fits nicely to the tennis ball and has such a smooth, lower profile.  So despite being “larger”, aerodynamically your pouch is way better to spin…much less drag from that lower profile.

Inspiration from Swiftcreek led to my latest Twin Loop sling I built.

First, as Swiftcreak did, using more than one color looks much nicer!

Second, although I don’t splice (yet), I did switch to perfection loop knots so the release/retention cords are centered and coming straight out of the knots like Swiftcreek’s sling. Akso, looks much nicer!


I am playing around with learning cobra weave to replace the west county whipping. So far I learned if you don’t get those cobra knots tight they don’t bind the Twin Loops very well at all!! I see potential but don’t trust my quality with the cobra weave just yet.
