New Year Resolutions
Jan 1st, 2026 at 8:51am

It's that time of year again.  I know many of you don't care for New Year's resolutions because they're rarely kept. But sometimes they are.
Due to a miserable, nagging groin pull that happened last Summer I haven't been working out.  I tried to work through it but that wasn't happening so I'm resting it instead.  I'm still dog walking four miles a day though.  One of my resolutions is to get back in shape,  groin or not.
My gf likes to give me food.  She has pretty much taken control of my diet. Consequently I've put on thirty pounds that I was overjoyed to lose last year.  I blame no one but myself.  I could have stopped her.  It's time for me to get back to eating as I know I should.  I'll never feel 100% if I don't.
     What are your resolutions?
     And happy New Year!!

I like CGPGrey, and being the easily influenced person I am, I adopted the idea of themes. .I had a theme of fitness a couple years ago that got me into pretty decent shape and established some habits that have lasted.  I think this year I'm gonna try a season of mental...assessment.  I've always felt pretty good about my mental health, but it might be time to check with a professional.   Grin

Last year I only made 1 sling.  Over the entire year!  Now I'm not one of the world's great sling makers, and I'm also really slow, but making only 1 sling is pathetic.  This year I want the count to be at least 4.

I'm prone to lower back problems.  I'm actually going through a week or so stretch of pain right now.  I had been on a very long period (probably over a year) of no issues, but aggravated things while doing some hedge trimming last Fall.  I have a chiropractor that I trust, and have always told myself I need to do regular visits.  I know that even outside of the appointments, if I'm going once a month, that will keep things fresh in mind and I'll be more likely to take care of myself.  I have an appointment next week and will discuss options with the doc.

And one more that will be a little vague, I got a message from a certain source about using a bell to try ridding oneself of unwanted habits/behaviors.  So I'm going to give that a try as soon as I find the right bell.
