I like the idea.  Good hit! Thumbs Up

And you're certainly not at the end.  I picked up all the stuff I think I need to build my setup.  I still need to put it together though.  I'm hoping to have a video in the next couple weeks.

It's not uncommon for pumpkin submissions to go through November.  If anyone else is thinking about it, you're not too late at all.

Not as long a wait as I thought it would be.  The "contraption" didn't work exactly as planned.  But it worked!

Setting things up was a pain.  But this was super fun for slinging!

Nice hits, and very fun contraption! Even if the frame hits didn't count, they still demonstrate the power you put into those stones. Popping a 2x4 off of four screws? Not easy by any stretch. Bad day to be a pumpkin for sure.

An interesting solution to flip the pendulum upside down!
Ha ha, it seems the crossbar and frame pieces evoke even more emotion than the pumpkin.  Grin

Right!?  I think if I would have gotten a center hit on the pumpkin that would have been exciting.

I never remember to try to get a good thumbnail pose during recording.  And end up just scrolling through the video to find something.  Grin

I like this better than a pendulum target.  It just takes way more effort to get it set up.

Ha very cool! Looks like you could get some serious hang time with that pendulum too. How long would it last before you had to start it swinging again?

Was the pumpkin just held in by being pressed between the frame? I'm amazed it didn't get pushed out the back from some of those hits!

It didn't swing for a particularly long time.  I could get off 3 shots comfortably, and 4 if I rushed a bit.  So not great, but good enough for the challenge.  I would definitely rethink some things if I wanted to use it as a regular target.

And yep, the pumpkin was just pressed between the boards.  I measured it beforehand so was able to make it a tight fit.  One of the hits actually did push it back a little bit.

If you guys want a closer look at the setup, let me know.  I can do a short video showing how it was put together.  I thought about including that in the pumpkin challenge video but figure it would make it too long.

Yeah sure! Would be cool to see the setup if it's not too much trouble to put together the video.

Yeah, I think it's because the script is so unpredictable. Even the author's reaction shows his surprise. Grin

100%.  I've never had a good poker face when it comes to slinging.  In any video I've done, whether it's laughing at something or getting pissed off, whatever I'm feeling is going to be on there.

Well, here's my entry, took me too long to put it together. Somehow I lost a  lot of the footage and the audio and video got messed up, but there is still pumpkin destruction!

I guess that's what happens when you leave video editing software open and untouched for 3 weeks , lol.

Nice! Definitely better with a group, I gotta start something around here to build one up!

Those rocks the cowboy was throwing(Caspian?) were enoooooormous. Totally nuts he could hit anything with them!
