Hey boys and gals, loaf here, I know I've been on and off in this community for the past 16-17 years a lot, but I still believe this is important enough to warrant a post. I've basically been going around various communities I'm in encouraging European friends to sign, it only takes a couple minutes of time anyway, no idea if this has been talked about yet, but if so I'll share anyway because I believe it's important!

Basically, we've reached a point when it comes to the gaming industry where everything is going digital, and support is essentially tied to how long the devs feel like keeping their servers up for a game. This, after support has ended, essentially leads to a dead game that is unable to be played at any time they deem fit, and in the end they keep your money.

What Stop Killing Games is asking for is simply end of life support, either give the source code to the community or offer them some way to continue playing the game they paid money for, either offer server binaries if it requires some form of server etc. Ultimately it's not asking for much, and really it's something that has existed since the 90's anyway.

If this passes in Europe it is incredibly likely that other countries will reap the benefits as well, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense financially to offer separate builds to different countries, although they still may do it, the chances are still very unlikely. For example, we have Australia to thank for steam having a refund feature.

Anyway, if anybody abroad is capable of signing this, please do, even if you're not a huge gamer it's still a great move towards consumer rights.
