I am slinging for 2 years now. It all startet with the story of David and Goliath. My first ever throw with a sling was a figure 8 throw, because I saw that technique on youtube and thought it looked cool. The stone went roughly in the intended direction and I somehow did not hurt myself. I was hooked immediately.

In the last 2 years I made a variety of slings. I braided some (balearic) out of polypropylene or hemp fibers. I have woven some (egyptian) out of polypropylene or kevlar. But the most ones are just single strand slings out of polypropylene string and a piece of leather (fast and cheap).

And I made hundreds of clay bullets (air dryed).

I also made some bows, arrows, boomerangs and foxtail-balls, but slinging is the my main focus.

I practice a lot of different throwing techniques, but for accurracy I mainly use helicopter and figure 8. For distance throwing I just use figure 8, because I can generate the most power with it and get the projectile orientation right.
