Lead glandes are great but an absolute nightmare to practice with without a serious backstop target setup

You can buy it but it's fairly easy to process good quality clay projectiles if clay is present in your native soil. Look up Andy Ward's video on wet processing clay.

Glad you enjoyed house of David.
The sling stunts he was pulling can only be done either by a stuntman, with a green screen and /or 2 years of practice.
Don't solve your fantasies by throwing money at them, learn how to make a sling by reading the tutorials and sling academy sections and start with tennis balls.
If you are still slinging after a month, try rocks.

I rented a kayak and went to the other side of the lake and found plenty of good stones.

I went to Walmart and bought a bag of tennis balls with no air and a package of foam golf balls. Now I need to find a place to practice where no one can see me.
