Slinging Rocks!

Long dark evenings and all my slinging fields are bogs. I’ve gone down another rabbit hole 🤦♂️
Three complete in the last couple of months. First is Elm, 68” 33lb at 27”. A bit whip ended and I find it a little unforgiving to shoot, release has to be bob on.
The second is also Elm, 67” 52lb at 27”. Of course this one went the other way and is a bit stiff in the tips, I think I’m going to shave them down. It has slight reflex/deflex so I didn’t want to over thin the tips but I think I was a little too cautious. A bit of canvas backing to cover up some drying cracks.
The last one is Ash, it’s from the live edge of some saw timber I bough. I steamed in the recurves. 62” and 32lb at 27”. I was aiming for about 40lb but I got myself in a bit of a pickle getting it to bend evenly. It’s super sweet to shoot though.
I’ve broken three ash bows, one on the tiller and two trying to recurve them with hot air gun.
I forgot to get photos of the arrows I’ve made though!
