Hi slingers worldwide

I'm from Croatia.
I'd just like to share my slinging experience.
When I was a kid, an old neighbor from my small village in rural Croatia showed me and a few other kids how to use the sling. He had moved decades before from a mountainous and rugged part of Croatia to my little village. When he was a kid he used to literally herd sheep with the sling, and him and his friend would throw stones at each other from one hilltop to another.
Years later I went to study archaeology in Zagreb and was reintorduced to the "centrifugal sling" from an archaeological approach. Remembering my experiences as a kid I revisited the weapon, made a new one, and started throwing again. This was before reddit and discord and all of the hobbyist hotspots we have today.
A few months ago I found the slings I had made as a student and decided to look them up online again. I discovered a few amazing youtubers and a community on Reddit. One thing led to another and I decided to start making slings again and get in touch with the Reddit and Discord communities. Now I am contacting this forum to find more similar minded enthusiasts.

I hope to get to know all of you and trade my sligs all over the world.

Your old neighbor is probably died today. Can you tell us what he taught you ? Otherwise his testimony will disappear into oblivion. It would be a tribute to him to describe his sling, his throwing style and the pebbles he used. Your slings are class.

I do remember that the slings he made were very simple slings out of a single piece of rope with a loop on one end, a triple pronged pouch and two knots at each end of the pouch I don't remember. There was no release knot on the end.
