Curious Aardvark said that Larry Bray's style is a lot harder to replicate than it looks. I can verify that!
I tried to replicate it last year, but couldn't figure out the timing. I finally think I've got it right, just today.
Here is Larry:
https://youtu.be/fBKje_xJPU8?si=uhoCzhgjEJxbPiVo&t=609And here is me, Byzantine throws first, then Larry's style.
https://youtu.be/9etN7DkuaMMI know that I do a couple of things poorly, like the the hips to turn first and I use too much arm (I don't keep it relaxed, the pectoral starts to move the arm forward too soon). Also, Larry leans really hard one way to have a nearly vertical arm slot so backspin is possible. Mine is more like 3/4.
Any other critiques? I just want to see if replicating his method can squeeze out any more power. The step forward and the rapid stop does seem to help a bit, but I haven't verified with measurements yet.
In hindsight, I guess I should place a camera at the same angle as in C_A's video. ... Next time.
