Wait.... u can't even use a human representation as a target in germany?! I know yall have some absolute tyrannical laws on weapons in general, but that is just awful.

Half agree. It seems to me excessive. But each country has a history that must be respected. Many others equally valuable countries have problems with weapons.
Maybe a subject outside slinging to avoid ?

Lol I also half agree with u. I respect other countries and cultures, but I flatly disdain when laws are created that make it hard for me to enjoy one of the few things I do outside of work  (which happens to be practicing with and testing weaponry/martial arts for both historical and fun reasons). Naturally I will never like it when that is done anywhere, irregardless of the country. But I do think that politics probably should be left outside of most parts of this forum. I meant no ill will and apologize if anyone found my reply on lawmakers in bad taste 😉

Yes, the laws in Germany are strict when it comes to weapons. But since the good old slingshot was not included in the weapons law, I had it classified. In Germany it is considered a toy.Very strange. Shooting at human targets is only allowed for the police and the military. Shooting with lead is also prohibited. There are only very few shooting ranges where it is allowed. Fortunately There is such a place just a few kilometers away from me. There I can shoot at a target up to 120m away. 150m away at a running boar. 😜

Wow, I'm sorry u have to deal with those restrictions. Also didn't know that using lead specifically could be regulated, VERY odd thing to go after. I'm glad u have a spot u can use, otherwise we wouldn't have some of ur very valuable content. I really loved ur sling bullet deformation tests 😀

Lead ammunition is banned in almost all EU countries. Nature and environmental protection. I can understand it. Lead is really toxic stuff. It is interesting to observe the deformation of the projectiles. There is a lot of it on historical battlefields. In order to be able to make statements, you need a lot of material. I have now I have shot around 25,000 glandes. I have documented around 3,000 of them. But I prefer shooting stone. Lead is somehow scary to me. I really shoot a lot. the guys at the shooting range said. They even advertise it now. There are often courses for hunters or police. The bang of the sling and the bang of the impact can be heard from a long way away. People often ask what caliber is being fired.Someone is training with the oldest firearm in the world. Can you guess which one it is? So far only one person has guessed it. He had seen the sling in Mallorca.😂😂😂
