Hello from the UK.

Hi all,
I run a company called red fox bushcraft, in southwest England, and I'm taking a masters in experimental archaeology. I recently acquired some flax fibers from my university and turned it into a Balearic sling. I am now hooked and am planning on including slings in few assignments, and possibly a dissertation next year.

I have joined the forum mainly to ask questions when i encounter issues when making and using slings, but i am also poking around for ideas for my dissertation based around the production and/or use of slings.

I look forward to interacting with the forum members.

Your resource dump is here with 500 + pages in "pictures of slings and slinging" and plenty of making tutorials. Flax is an excellent start. Hemp fibre is readily available from ebay or screwfix.
