Weaving sisal with vegetable oil

Today I tried to weave a sling from sisal, having previously lubricated the fibers with olive oil, and it was much easier to weave, they cling less and were softer, the only thing is that your hands will be greasy, if it doesn't bother you can try

Olive oil's much better than veg oil. Good idea!

I bought a kilo of beeswax for 11 euros, I did this in proportions of 3 to 1. Mixed three parts olive oil with 1 part beeswax. It turned out 100 grams of water-repellent impregnation, 75 grams of olive oil and 25 grams of wax heated and mixed together.
It turned out to be a good substance for processing leather and ropes
