A Very Sad Anniverary
Nov 22nd, 2023 at 12:16am

Today marks a very sad and solemn anniversary at slinging.org;  the passing of our friend, leader, and slinging legend Alexander William Johnson aka Curious Aardvark.  It's hard to believe it's been a year already.
I'd like to think he's pleased looking down at how we've kept his project going.  Joe has stepped up and done a hell of a job plus we have an excellent crew of moderators.  We will continue to maintain the integrity of slinging.org in c_a's honor.
The following is the signature from Curious Aardvark's profile:   Do All things with Honour and Generosity: Regret Nothing, Envy None, Apologize Seldom and Bow your head to No One  - works for me.  He certainly practiced what he preached.  Rest in peace, my dear friend.

Very well put Rat Man.  Definitely a sad day.  Yeah, wow.  Hard to believe it's been a year.

RIP CA.  You are missed by many.

I miss CA. I hope he and Aussie have started heaven's first slinging club.  Maybe they have even figured out how to aim this damn thing.  Wink

The slinging scene is different with CA not being around. Both online and the in person events on the islands are missing his presence.
Wish he could be around to meet all the new slingers getting into the sport but his legacy lives on with this forum, which he managed and nurtured over many years and in all his contributions to and interactions with the rest of us.
