Yeah, I would also say I'm skeptical of the reading. I agree that he's getting some good speed, but I don't think the reading is accurate for a couple reasons. We've seen that kind of speed recorded, but it hasn't been with that type of sling or that slinging technique. I'm not saying it's impossible, but the sling isn't particularly long and the power stroke also looks to be pretty short (it's hard to tell with the choppy edit). Not sure why he doesn't show a full unedited throw from loading the sling to showing the reading on the chronograph.
The other thing is you can see him physically dodging the ball when it bounces back at him. I know it's hitting a wall, and speed will be lost. But sorry, if the speed going into the wall is 84.9 m/s, and he's only 4 steps away (which we see in the video when he walks up to it), there's no way a human is dodging out of the way.
