Once, Toivo and Eino were out hunting, and before setting out, Toivo told Eino to fire three shots in the air if he got lost, and Toivo would find him. Soon enough, Eino got lost, aimed his weapon up and prayed: "God, please let Toivo see my arrows!"

That looks like it took a long time, how many strands is that braid? Looks really good.

It definitely did take a while, and it is probably the sling that's taken me the longest time to make. The cords are an 8 strand square braid, and the fingerloop is a wide 8 strand flat braid.

Thanks Grin

After many months of procrastination, the shield is done. I ended up using modified carriage bolts and homemade copper washers for riveting on the boss. Smiley

I tried slinging a bit with it the other day using the method here: https://www.romanarmytalk.com/rat/showthread.php?tid=6508&page=2 (post #21), and it seemed to work pretty well, but will take a bit of practice to get used to it and become faster at reloading.

Looks fantastic Eino! Thumbs Up

I totally get what you mean about the procrastination.  I can't even count how many projects I've started and then take forever (sometimes literally years) to finish.  It always seems to be worth it at the end.
