Greetings from New Zealand!
Jul 2nd, 2023 at 9:39am

Hello slingers!

Just wanted to do one of these, I feel it’s time now. Have been reading on here for a few months now and have been slinging for just a bit longer than that.

The bug bit me hard and I sort of fell in love with it. I have made a few slings now, and lost one in a river !

There are some incredibly talented folk out there, both in slinging and in the making of slings and I’m having a blast absorbing all this knowledge retained on here.

I’ll attempt to attach a few pics of slings I’ve made since I started. I look forward to discussing in the future.

Thanks guys n gals:)

Some others, I have tried a few styles now. The lighter paracord slings were the first I ever made!

Once, Toivo and Eino were building a house, but as Toivo worked, he would occasionally throw a nail over his shoulder. When Eino asked why he was being so wasteful, he said, “The heads are on the wrong side!” Eino looked at him and said, “You dummy, those are for the other side of the house!”

Glad you decided to post. It's good to have people engage and not just lurk. I used to just lurk for a long time. Now I have much more fun actually engaging and sharing my ideas/thoughts with everybody rather than keeping them to myself.

Welcome!

Heyo!

Thanks for the welcome and the kind words! Looking forward to getting better and being able to share it with likeminded people.

I know it’s going to take a while though!

The Balearic sling I made is either jute or hemp. The listing I brought it from said Jute, but the roll said hemp so I’m unsure. I attempted to make one before out of sisal extracted from rope but it came out small, ugly and structurally questionable!!

I can hear AA’s voice “ don’t be disheartened if it doesn’t come out quite right “ haha
