Mersa has it.  It will be heading to the UK after he's done.

WHAAAAAAAAT!?!?!?

That's three repairs on a sling that shouldn't have needed any.  No joke guys.  I think CA is messing with us from wherever he is.

Or maybe Mersa just throws too bloody hard. Wink

I met up with Morphy for the first time ever… during an eclipse. Here’s the video.  Sling is heading to Mersa next.

Awesome stuff buddy!  I love it!
It's so cool to see all the different things everyone is doing.

One thing though, Zud is up next.  If AA is joining this thing (which he should), he hasn't said anything yet.  We need him, JudoP, and Morningstar to get in on this.

Rapidly coming up on the  2nd anniversary of CAs death.

Bows head for a moment.

Thanks Joe for stepping up.

Is there any appetite for uk Slingers to meet up ?

I am about 40 minutes drive from where Alex lived.....

South of Derby, as Alex said,  in the centre of the triangle of the 3 places claiming to be the centre point of England !

David posted the video of Alex slinging on the fields nearby in the memorium thread.

Alex took me there and gave me some pointers on sling technique.

If people want to meet up I think that is the ideal location.
For non drivers I have a 7 seater and am happy to pick up from stations nearby.

Thoughts or questions ?

Cheers.
😁👍

Whilst I'm on it ......

Joe said, at the end of the pass - around the sling goes back to him.

I have no problems with that .... you know there is a but coming.....

A couple of other options, which Joe can, of course, veto as he is nominally the slings owner.

One, is if and when, the pass-around ends the sling could be buried in the fields mentioned in the previous post.

The other is to give the sling to Alexs' family. Suitably framed on a map with where it has been.

Feel free to sling rocks ..... its what we do !!😁😁 or better yet offer constructive comments and thoughts.
😁👍

A couple of other options

I'm certainly open to other options.  The sling getting returned to me was more-so intended as a 'keeping track of it' device.  Until we have some old member who hasn't logged in for an eternity stop back, and they want to have a go with it.  Cheesy

I'm not much for the burying idea.  I understand the notion, and think it's a nice tribute.  But if it was me, I would want that sling to keep getting pulled out once in a while.  I still have hopes that the list of people who have used it will be twice as long or more before we're done.  Who knows, maybe I'll take it to the Slinging World Cup next year (assuming I make it) and get recordings of a whole bunch of guys using it!  Hopefully its journey has a long was to go yet.

I think giving it to the family is a good idea.  I don't have any point of contact though.  So we would need someone who does who could coordinate things.  That doesn't need to be figured out right now though.  I do know of at least one more stop it'll be making.  Channing said he would do a video with it.  So there's one more stop for definite after the UK tour.  We can figure out what's next after that.

Ok, I have had the CA sling for a week now.
It has snowed, only 5 inches but I'm not going anywhere I don't need to !

Anybody in the UK want to meet or have the sling posted to them ?

😁👍

Hi Zud,

It would be cool to have a meetup. We aren't too far off both being midlands area. I can drive to the location you have specified where Alex has done slinging, sounds a good place.

Off the top of my head there's also David Morningstar (Manchester way), AA (South West) and maybe a few others on this forum- if you are also a UK slinger feel free to chip in and join for a meetup!
