New Year Misfortunes
Jan 3rd, 2023 at 11:53am

I was visiting some friends for New Years Eve.  At one point I was heading toward the stairs to go inside.  I slipped, caught my foot on the bottom step as I was falling, and broke my ankle.

So far this year isn't any fun.  Sad

Might be time to join the school of sit-down-slinging. Get better soon!

Thanks guys.

Here's a pic of the new bionic foot.  Going in for surgery next week, so I messed it up pretty bad.

Oh my goodness! Must have been quite the twist. But then again, I knew a guy who had to get pins in his foot from doing too long of a foot race and getting stress fractures. So, surgery doesn't always mean a bad break, just a break that doesn't want to heal right on its own.  I hope you recover fully.

Thanks man.  And yep, you hit the nail right on the head.  Hopefully not to get too graphic, but there was ligament damage as well.  So now the ankle is in the wrong place and won't heal.  After surgery I'll be one of the lucky individuals with a metal plate in my ankle.

Get well soon, Joe!  Look forward to all the pat-down and searches at airport security screens which your new plate will trigger!
