joe_meadmaker Slinging.org Administrator Offline Slinging Ice is Cool! Posts: 2913 PA, USA	Re: Roman reenactors slinging Reply #5 - Nov 15^th, 2022 at 4:50pm I wonder if the step is due to restrictions cause by the armor (or something else being worn). Maybe the body can't twist and the hips need to stay directly under the shoulders.

I'd also sling with a lot of slack if the ground was slippery. I don't see any reason to not take a step on good ground.
