Hello from Tennessee

Hey all, been haunting this site for a while and figured it was finally time to start participating.  Really enjoy making and using slings, I'll post some pictures later on of the slings I make typically in the huaraca fashion... labor intensive to say the least...

Well here are my latest works starting from the outer ring working in:
1) 100% wool 4-ply worsted weight
2) 1mm Hemp cord from NS Hemp
3) 1mm Hemp cord from Hemtique
4) 100% alpaca dk weight (I think)

So far the Hemtique 1mm hemp is my favorite.

Holy moly!  Those are some beautiful slings you've made there!  Shocked

Very few out there doing stuff like that.  Fantastic! Thumbs Up

Welcome from New Jersey, TS.  Great looking slings... better than mine!  I was stationed at Ft. Campbell. Are you near there?

Appreciate the compliments, probably have 10+ hours per sling. I'm a slow braider, still perfecting some of the transitions.  But it's become a bit of an obsession to make the "perfect" sling...

Hooah! Been through Campbell myself a few times, not such a bad place to be. I'm about three hours from there right now.

Welcome from Minnesota!
The patterns on your slings look very cool.
What are they made out of?

Thanks Gaius, they're sheep wool, hemp, and alpaca wool.  I learned from Owen and Flynn's book Sling Braiding Traditions and Techniques

What’s happening from Virginia, like the sling designs. Great braiding.
