Banana Sling

This and bamboo fibers are two I would like to try. I wonder if your sling would smell vaguely of bananas?

Hmmm.....

I wouldn't think after drying out.  But if it does, I know a seller on Etsy who makes some pretty great incense.  You could hot box the sling with a couple sticks and blast that banana smell right out.  Cheesy

Well if you consider all the stuff they now do with coconut shell and fibres, there's definitely precedence
I'd quite like a banana sling, for novelty reasons if nothing else Smiley

Good luck to them.

My first post on instagram was a sling that had been posted here made from coconut I think and its as beautiful as any Ive ever seen. I think to make a good banana sling would just require practice with the medium.

Doesn't say how much you get and can't see an undyed option.

The comments are interesting, seems to be similar to silk in softness.
So should make soft flexible sling.

It would also be interesting to see how durable it is, is it still good after getting wet, all the "real world" scenarios.

Hah... I actually happen to have some Banana silk yarn myself... just haven't done anything with it yet.

I saw it and thought "You know what... This might be interesting!"

Seems to me to have an interesting feel to it, soft and a bit 'slippery' and it has a nice, lustrous shine to it. I think if you had multiple colours you could make a nice patterned braid.

The softness and the luster are what really appeals to me. I feel like those two attributes make better looking braids.
