Long range testing of sling bullets on video.

Here we are testing sling bullets for range on video.

The info on the bullets are in the desc, but heres the info anyway.

Today we are testing the max range of lead sling bullets.

the highest recorded score that day was 205 meters/225yrds, however that shot was not on camera.

The first shot was 160 meters and was rifled well, but I miss aimed to low.

The second shot was 180 meters but wasn't fully stabile in flight since I failed part of the rifling technique (hence the buzz), however was angled high enough for a farther range than the first.

I hand made these bullets, and have been injured for about 2 weeks now and am just getting back into it so it took me a while to figure out the rifling. Once I have regained strength, I may do a secondary video because believe it is possible to reach farther.

Info:
weight: 48.78 grams
1.9 inch long
.6 inch wide

    Good to see you're getting some respectable distances now.

Right on! I love long distance slinging. It is so much fun. Someday I'll get around to trying lead too (when I can recover it).  It's nice that you could actually see one of them land. I would have expected them just to bury into the ground without a trace.

I live in a litteral desert, so most of the time they make a splash when they hit but sometimes I still can't recover them, they just seem to disappear. I did recover my longest shot though so that's awesome!

You answered my first question.  I just logged in to ask if you recovered any of the bullets.

Second question.  The other people in the video said they saw the impact of the first throw.  But I'm guessing it's too small to see in the video.  I watched it a few times but can't pick anything out.  Is the first hit visible in the video?

And a comment.  Get in front of that camera when you throw.  Wink
I just like to see the movement and style slingers use, especially when distance slinging.

Good video!

@joe

If you are watching on a small screen, you won't see it. Get a 32" monitor!

@Foresight
I agree with Joe, Seeing the slinger is the most fun part of watching these videos.

Good video!

I will attempt to get both in the camera in the future then Smiley

The first one is visible slightly to the left of center screen if u cut to :47 seconds in the video and watch till :49

sorry it's so hard to see, I will attempt to make it more visible on a coming video;)

Yay!  I saw it!  Cheesy

I was just looking in the wrong area.  That was actually quite visible.

Distance slinging is definitely a hard one to get both the throw and the impact in a video.
