I recall a similar idea coming up before, but not as a multi-pouch.  The idea was just for a solid pouch, and how well it might work.  I meant to try to carve one out of wood but never got around to it.

The picture you have should work.  One thing to note (which you did correctly) is to anchor the "pouch" at all four corners.  If the cords are just connected to the middle on each side, the pouch will just roll over and dump the projectile(s) out.  I experienced that problem in one of the trash sling challenges.  I used the top of a plastic bottle as a pouch.  I initially just connected the cords to a single point and it didn't work at all.  They needed to connect at two points just like you've drawn.

Do you have that plastic piece or is that just a photo you found?  I would also be curious to see how well it works.

Curious Aardvark, no, I didn't tested it.

Joe, I saw your second video. You used a box of eggs. This peace of plastic is a refrigerator accessory for laying eggs.  Cheesy

On the other end, it is possible to make identically a rigid pouch in a wooden board. If it works, this solves the problem of many strings.

Not being at my best for the moment, anyone may test this egg box.  Cheesy

That's funny.  I don't think I have one of those in my fridge.  I do have boards though.  I might try putting something together.

One of the slings pictured is a double barreled sling I devised years ago.  As long as your ammo is consistent it has a pretty good shot group.  The two pouches can also be used as one to hurl larger projectiles.

That's a cool looking sling Rat Man. I saw JudoP post that. Do you know if there are any videos of a throw with that sling floating around out there somewhere?

I've never made such videos, unfortunately. I'm not set up to do so.  Maybe JudoP will.

Perhaps, it's quite rare I get out slinging these days, might be waiting a while!
