Awesome!  Love the shotgun darts!  I didn't even look at the title of the video.  When I saw that, I literally said out loud 'How the heck did he do that?!'  Very cool idea.

Nice demonstration of the Wasp build too.  Like a couple other mentioned in the comments of the video, I really liked that blowgun with a shoulder stock!  I never saw anything like that.

You really should. I don't have a safe place for my slinging hobby...

Shooting giant bamboo sticks out of my PVCpipe. Split some bamboo with my Coldsteel Vaquero XL. The result seems pretty good!

That is awesome man!  Makes me think of an upgrade from an arrow to an atlatl dart.

Is there a big weight difference between the bamboo sticks and the other darts?

Well yes! It's like the Atlatl version of the blowgun! Wadding is a piece of toilet paper. Natural and primitive enough! No fletching at all, no cones.

I don't have a weighing scale to weigh them, but by the looks of it, it's much heavier than the puny bamboo skewers. Paired with the hard skin of the bamboo exterior, the points are much sharper!

These oversized bamboo splinters are the way to go! Is there a new name for this new killer weapon? Smiley

Edit:
I still remember reading somewhere in this forum about Atlatl 'darts' knocking archery boards over, bulldozing through the range! Love these oversized weapons!

The parachute dart video was cool.

I have a couple of ideas(pictures below) I can't explore because I don't have time and I was wondering if anyone knows of more developed versions.

the general idea is to get more acceleration from big diameter pipe and lower drag from smaller cone/fletchings, for longer ranges.
the top is a plain dart paper cone

the middle is cone in cone. Small cone sits on a bigger cone the drag of the big cone slows it down faster and detaches, resulting in a lower surface area dart.

the bottom is a nail with tiny tape fletchings that sits twisted in a cone.the cone is air tight with extra tape inside. fletchings are supposed to have even lower surface area and drag than a small cone.

I tried them @2m the third dart doesn't always detaches and I'm not really sure the second detaches before contact with the target. I wonder if they will work at 5-30m. Maybe one day I'll test them on a low pressure airgun

@
LKH9 do you have a video on something similar that I might have missed? it would be awesome to see sabot darts in action

That's an innovative concept! Especially the smaller cone cupped into a Bigger Cone in the middle pic! Like Tank Sabot Rounds! Amazing!

I used toilet paper for the fletched bamboo skewers without cones. I need a wider area to thoroughly test these. The toilet paper wadding is done out of desperation, no idea for a detachable cone... It has to be designed!

oops I didnt notice the fletchings on that arrow. toilet paper seems very practical for the fletched skewers. a cone might be useful for better seal probably more useful for airguns.
