We've been able to get free lateral flow tests since they were developed and even some shops have free masks.

I think it's simply that the us has finally admitted that it's handled the outbreak really really badly.

And they're trying to play catch-up with most of the rest of the world.

like most Americans I'm far more concerned about rising crime, political violence and inflation than I am with whatever next variant comes along. As always I remain open to new data but it'd have to be markedly more dangerous to me and my family to move my dial.

I'm planning on canning more next year and jumping into pressure canning but that's independent.
