Ive had 90% dark chocolate and yeah thats some strong stuff. I love strong flavors but that may be a little too strong. But the mindset makes sense to me. Whether its fish, cheese or alcohol I love that really powerful kick you get from certain foods.

I like a powerful kick (huh huh), but super dark chocolate is just bitter. The taste of bitter evolved to tell us when something is poisonous. 85%+ chocolate tastes like eating a tree to me.

Dark chocolate is OK but is probably better suited to cooking than straight up eating.  I can't think of a candy with regular milk chocolate that I don't like.  Dad would sometimes bring us Milky Way, Mars, Snickers, or Three Musketeers so they're particular favorites of mine.
Once my mother in law, Sea Hag, bought a five pound block of milk chocolate at an auction.  She gave it to me.  It took a couple of weeks but I ate the whole thing myself.  I like chocolate a lot.

When I was working at the mcvities biscuit factory, I used to do relief in the chocolate room. Best smelling room in the whole place !

The chocolate enrober used chocolate as its only lubricant - anything else would have contaminated it - and consequently leaked like a sieve. The leakage went into a bag lined tray.
So every 3 or 4 hours there would be around a 7lb block of perfectly sterile chocolate, that they used to throw away.

Until I started working there.
I used to take them home, cut into half pound blocks and freeze.

I even converted one of the chaps in charge of the chocolate to start taking it home.
I'm nothing, if not a bad influence on people whistle

One year I wrapped a whole block up and gave it to my dad for his birthday.
Nearly 30 years later, he still says it was his best birthday present ever Smiley
