That's definitely a slinger. That's really cool. It's titled "Warrior with Sling" but I wonder how they decided on that. I don't know anything about the culture that this came from so maybe the... headdress(?) is typical of warriors or it's meant to be a form of head protection showing this is from a battle of some kind. I love seeing finds like this because it really feels "real". You can imagine the person very carefully making this, planning out how they want it to look and then executing it. Fantastic.

Mexican.
Still a strong rural sling culture.

Wonder how old it is.

I wonder why they did not title it "Naked Guy with balls and sling"? 🤔 This would be proven by visual evidence 😆
If he is a warrior is not clear for me. Perhaps there is a Colima typical symbology?
I remember having seen another mexican slinger, also naked. Maybe this was a thing in Mexico 😅
Could be interesting to try it out !
Has anyone tried slinging naked?
Anyway, Thank you loads for sharing, love it!

A warrior is defined by the person’s mindset, not  their equipment.  Mindset is difficult to display in a visual art piece, but perhaps his nakedness and use of a humble sling is evidence of a warrior’s mindset, because he’s still fighting even without basic equipment like clothing.

If anyone tries this… please keep the photos to yourself Grin

Wasn't a warrior defined by the fact that he is doing some war-like thing ? Oo

So maybe the hat with animal ears is a thing of war ? like the jaguar-man in Age of Empire Tongue

Lol, think David said hector turned up at the first event in soller, with just a loincloth on.
Pretty sure he'd got video.
And uwe has stripped naked in Mallorca.
Not actual slinging, v
But he was carrying a sling coming out of the sea.

I've still got pictures for sale whistle

So I reckon it's your turn next.

I'm not aware of any British tribes going into battle naked, we just don't have the climate for it Smiley

The Balearic islanders famously went into battle naked.

There aren't any of the statues in Mallorca where they're wearing more than a loin cloth.
And I reckon that's just for public decency.

Even Michelangelo's David is a naked slinger.

So there is definitely historical precedence for
Naked slinging in hot countries.

How hot are the summers in Austria ? whistle

well I guess the main question is: where is he keeping his spare ammo ?

And of course - what were they on ?
Some kind of fungi like the viking berserkers ?

Lets face it the shock impact of naked slingers only works the first time you see them, after that, it's just: 'Alright ! it's those naked idiots again - I'll give 50 sesterci to anyone who can put an arrow through a ball sack !'

I like the costume but I'm worried about his starting position (that's a lot of slack to overcome)
