A new sling to name
Sep 14th, 2021 at 3:14pm

In MMF's (Mo's) introduction thread at https://slinging.org/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1630727858/0, he included a link to youtube instructions for making a net-pouched single strand sling that I've never seen before.

Here's the link he gave us: https://youtu.be/zixv-zgaqlE

Even though the original inventor of this design is probably named Ogg, Grugg, or Caveman Bob, I think we should name it after Mo, because he's the one who brought it to us.
This is in keeping with the Aussie, Peaceful Jeffrey, Apu, Rockman and Mersa tradition.

Since it's a single strand construction, we affectionately call those Noodles.

Therefore, I propose we name it a
Mo Noodle
.

What are your thoughts?

I remember reading somewhere here in deep history back that a single strand construction sling gets called a "noodle".  Of course that could have been RS just washing his hawg, but I like the moniker, so... Mo Noodle. Grin

It rolls off the tongue better than "single strand knotted netted  pouch sling".

I thought for once someone else named their slings besides me.  But naw, still weird I guess.  Smiley

A Mo Sling/Noodle/whatever works for me. Might also contact the maker just in case he already had a name for the design.

I was going to suggest Humphreys Noodle but it seems a shame to use that without Zud being here.

Okay, if we get Zud's blessing it'll be a Humphrey noodle.  Deal?

Anyway, I'll give my impressions on the design after i've played with it a little bit more.

yeah, it's a zig-zag interlocked double loop dogshank.

I left it out in the rain last night, okay, oops, so today I'll see how it performs when wet and later on give a report on my findings.

That’s going to be my new favorite insult 🤣
