Just wanted to mention this really great video game “A Plague Tale: Innocence”  set in 14th century France. The game came out in 2019 and is currently available for free in a lot of platforms. 

What’s fascinating is the main character exclusively uses a Sling as the only weapon of choice through the game! And through the game she upgrades it by research and experience. This includes different ammo types, pouch materials, braided materials etc. Some of this is exotic and not practical but the uses of the sling in tactics and problem solving 90% of the time is just great! The game itself is gorgeous and the story is a little dark but fun. Slingers that want to take a break from the real thing should check it out.

Do a search on YouTube and look up examples of the game with slinging and check out the mechanics. It appears to be a Balearic Side arm technique used.

Thanks for the links to old threads.  Can’t wait for the sequel due next year “ A Plague Tale: Requiem .” Interesting to note in  the new trailers main character at one point is carrying a crossbow.
