Reply #1 - Sep 7^th, 2021 at 10:36am It reminds me of Jeorg Sprave's idea in the video he did on whistling sling bullets where he thought they might have been thrown from sticks. I don't know if he was right on that one, but it is surprisingly effective to throw things like this.

I thougt joerg and the archaeologists thought they had been mass thrown by siege engine because the archaeologist didn't think a slinger could get the distance and angle.
They had some numpty do a mathematical analysis.
That was so wrong it wasn't even funny.

That was another of those videos that had me shouting at the screen lol

And it's not even like joerg doesn't know we're here.

Reply #3 - Sep 7^th, 2021 at 12:32pm I remember he suggested that the the little lead shot could be slotted onto the end of a thin stick and then thrown, the hole being used as both the way to seat it and the whistle. I doubt that's how they did it (why bother if you have a sling?), but it would work.
