No single 'the best'.

And you'd need to qualify.

There are sling braiders in Spain and the Balearics who have been making and selling braided slings for 50 years plus.
But they pretty much have just perfected 1 or 2 different sling styles.

Then you've got the artists like: teg, uwe and Jaegoor who make a wide variety of braided slings, including intricately patterned 16 and more, stranded slings that while fully functional can also be hung on the wall as works if art.

Teg  also reverse engineers historical slings for museums and the like.

For my money, uwe is probably the best specialist artistic sling braider I've ever seen.
And for a while, he was Also the world's only full time professional slinger.
Which was pretty damn cool.

On Facebook look up Hubert slings.

But with so many variables to be taken into account, all you can do is to say 'among the best in the world.'
'all' lol

I will try out a tighter braid on the next sling. Thanks for the input, MikeG.

I didn't see much of Jaegoor yet and havent heard of uwe. I will do some research on here later. Right now, I'm working on an Egyptian sling.

egyptian slings are a bit to time consuming for me, but they are great if you want to do something that you can be proud of (until you made 15 of them and it becomes boring)

Greetings Mo,
Welcome and why not try a seat belt sling.
Easy, and adaptable.

Cheers

Zud

I'm definitely going to try a seatbelt sling when I get my hands on a seatbelt that I don't need.

Here is the "Egyptian" sling I was talking about before: https://slinging.org/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1576446462/30#34
Design decisions were made while making it...it doesn't resemble an Egyptian sling at all.

Thanks for all the greeting btw!

Ive found the best seatbelt comes from kids carseats... I collect in when I see them being chucked out on the side of the road... or if I'm in a pinch I cut em off my own kids and tell them to wear a helmet (jk) Its 1.5" wide and perfect, very flexible and extremely durable...

If you go to a junkyard with a good knife, you can usually get seatbelts for free.
