As someone who took a jack rabbit with a sling I can tell you it chops it into two distinct pieces: head, and hind legs separated by several inches of nothing.  I don't think an arrow would do that.

This is off topic but I'd like to add that doctors' drug pushing doesn't stop with narcotics.  When I was a kid if you went to a doctor for an ailment he would attack the root cause.  Your doctor would tell you the painful truth.  Your blood pressure is high because you're too fat.  You can't sleep at night because you don't get any exercise.  You feel bad all the time because you eat garbage.  These days they'll give you a pill instead.  And they'll do their best to keep you on that pill for as long as possible, ideally the rest of your life.  Having had Lyme Disease for fourteen years I saw this first hand.  They have a drug for everything. The medical establishment would still have me popping pills all day.  Over four years ago I threw them all away.   If people would eat healthy and exercise nearly all of the meds we take would be unnecessary.

There is something I'd like to add to this.  Back to the original topic:  If you want to be a criminal but not go to prison, along with staying small don't work the same hustle forever.  If you've had a good thing going for two or three years don't push your luck.  Even if it's been very profitable end it.  Walk away and forget about it.  This will shock and confuse the people you've been dealing with.  Too bad.

There is one more thought I'd like to add.  For most of my life gambling was illegal.  The only gambling that was permitted was church and fire station Bingo games along with betting at the track on dog and horse races.  Also Las Vegas had legal gambling casinos.  That was it.
Yet people still bet.  A lot of it was controlled by organized crime.   We bet on numbers and every major sport.  There was also illegal betting on horse racing.  Football pools were a regular thing.  Plus illegal card games and games of chance.  People have always gambled and always will.
These days there are casinos everywhere, and every kind of betting you can think of is legal online.  Plus there are state lotteries.  The same people that gambled before are gambling now.   The government taxes it and the criminal element has been completely removed.  Plus the government doesn't waste a fortune trying to enforce idiotic laws and incarcerating otherwise law abiding citizens.  The same thing would happen if drugs were legalized.

Hi, in my country, it'S_pain, they are banning things everyday. So actually it is impossible to know if you are breaking the law or not. Sometimes even police or civil guard don't know themselves what is legal or what is forbidden. Also people use to think that some things that are legal are banned and they think some illegal things are allowed. I have been told that cutting wild palm leaves is forbidden or even cutting a branch. If I need to do something I just try to be stealthy.
