It's a full sidearm movement - just squeezed into about 3 inches of wrist movement. Really bloody difficult to replicate as well.

I did it, when i did a slinging duel with a friend. It is just strong enough to shoot a tennis ball, but to weak to injure somebody.

And you can do other useful things with it, like export movie frames into pictures, etc.
