I tried the sling. It shoots well and reliably anything you put in, even very small pebbles. No tangling of the cords, no release issues, nothing. It's a good sling.

I strongly believe if we saw the sling David killed Goliath with it would also appear like quite a poor, rustic design.

The amount of people that have been killed with seemingly cheap looking designs like this probably far exceeds all the people that have been killed by modern weapons of war many times over.

Thanks! I see what you are getting at. A combination of very heavy cords and stiff and heavy pouch.

I've seen pictures of such heavy slings in the past, but can't find them right now.
At a first glance, I'd say it was meant for use, as it is missing fringes, tassels, colors and the like. But who knows. It looks well and accurately made. Better go looking for cannonballs, I guess  Cheesy

When I first received this sling I surprised as many of you are. The man who got it for me told me this is how his family has always made them. Obviously something learned over at least one generation. It was never meant to represent all Mexican slings. He told me how they were made and that was interesting to me. Teg also found it interesting and offered a trade for it and I am thankful he figured out how it was made. Now to the eye it by itself is not that pretty but if you take the way it is constructed and change the material and the size a little you can see the beauty in the way it can spark your imagination. This site would have died along time ago if we all never got past making slings out of a hunk of leather and two shoe laces.
