Actually the rules require the use of natural shaped stones. So the ones used are selected only.
I seems wave motion leads to nice smoothly egg shaped stoney.
There is this one beach in the west of Ibiza I still have a wet dream of every now and then 😉, streching 2 km length and 100 m width covered in beautiful stones all perfectly shaped and weighed
