Hi Forum People!

Morning everyone (or evening/afternoon/whenever)! I'm a tea-obsessed unremarkable person from New England. Finally started slinging this month after lurking and telling myself to give this activity a go for a while.

Anyway, I'll probably be pretty quiet, but I'm here to lurk and learn. And to try to find a throwing style that feels right while I'm at it.

in a way you've got it a lot harder finding a style than I did.
I just had a sling and nobody else to copy.
This was not only pre-internet, it was damn near pre-home computers.

I actualy ended up with a fairly basic no-windup sidearm style.
For 15 years or so.
Then just learnt them all

These days i use whatever style suits what I'm doing.

But it''s definitely easier to start, if you don't have lots of videos and how-to's to confuse and confuzzle you.

Or indeed lots of slinging anoracks claiming their style is the one and only and anything else is rubbish whistle

And stick your elbow here, your left arm at 27 degrees and spin widdershins three times while reciting the alphabet backwards and hopping like a demented flamingo, whirling your 27 strand braided phoenician sling in a mobius strip direction, while maintaining a 38.7 degree angle of attack, before releasing at the azimuth and closing your non-dominant eye.

I believe that's the 'turkey' style of which morphy speaks whistle

Just make something from leather and paracord and go find somewhere with a bunch of rocks and play
