Yeah, I'm with Joe here. I think I would fail miserably at the "hit in specific order" challenge. So I'll keep milking this one as long as I can!

I have similar ambitions to hit specific cans in sequence and as of yet have only managed two:/

My goal is to hit 5 cans from 10m spaced one can width apart in sequence in under 1 minute. I am no where near this but gotta aim high right

Just throwing an idea out there, what if the scoring was additive. So you'd get 1 pt for the first hit in the sequence, 2pts for the second , 3pts for #3 and so on. Misses wouldnt break your streak as long as you dont hit another can. If you do, it just restarts the streak and you just try to hit the first can in the row and then skip the empty slot once you get to it.

in this version the max points you could get would be
1+2+3+4+5
=15

But until we can do this we just aim for a score of 5.
Five hits in under a minute with no concern for order

I tried shooting at cans today. However , there are no cans yet , I cut a plastic pipe of 50 mm . in diameter. height 12 cm.  I'll gradually accumulate cans and try again. I made about 10 episodes. The first series were from 1 to 3.. gradually adjusted and the result became better. several episodes of 4 turned out and one 5. But I haven't started putting it in the video yet. I'll fill it in with a separate time-cutoff video.  More than half of the hits in this format are obtained at random. I think it's worth increasing the distance between the banks and counting hits only in a row. Start from either side, right or left, whichever is more convenient. Yes, the results will drop immediately, but they will be real))

I have 16 balls in my bag, which is just enough for me for 1 minute of throwing at an average pace, if you throw the Greek vertical throw. I won't have more than 10-11 Balearic throws. That's why I always choose the Greek style for speed.

Very nice improvement over just a couple of rounds! I had to do a lot more than that to get my one good round Grin

One thing I found that helped immensely was putting the cans at normal target height. At first they were much lower and I had a really hard time adjusting my throw down that low. Although it's probably a little easier with an overhand throw than with my sidearm greek, I bet it would still help your overall hit rate.

Yes, I didn't like throwing it from top to bottom either)). I want to try to hang each jar on a thin thread, so that if it hits, it will come off and the jar will fly away)). But to do this, you need to adjust some kind of long stick from above.

I slightly reduced the throwing speed and the results got better. The 5 out of 5 milestone has been passed). To improve the result, you need to put more cans in a row Roll Eyes.

I also shot this video yesterday, all the same 10 episodes. The weather is bad right now, it rains all the time and it's pretty cool. How the clouds go away and free time appears..I'm going to train)). Hands freeze quickly in the cold and do not feel the sling well. That's why I don't throw for a long time. 30 minutes and go home)). I often can't train right now. I hope it will get warmer in a couple of weeks and it will be possible to train longer.

Just a heads up, the current record is 7.  So get 8 cans in that line. Smiley

I added the new videos to the first post.  I also changed the formatting so it's a little easier to see the different levels.  Some of the links were messed up so I just deleted them.  They were all low scores anyway (1 or 2 cans).

I like the renewed interest in this.  I'm recording my OSC tonight.  Might set up some cans after and see what happens.

Joe, please tell me, how many cans in a row can I use? There is no mention of this in the description of the Mersa challenge.

Mersa never specified.  So there's not really a limit.

For myself, I would probably stick with only 1 or 2 above the current record.  With no set limit, you can line up as many cans as you want.  But obviously if you line up 30 or 40 cans, a high score will be a lot less impressive because genuinely bad shots could still score.

Serge! Wow! Well done!

I like the idea of using short pieces of pipe, that is a good idea.

Joe, I totally agree with you. Put a lot of cans tightly in a row and the result can be greatly increased, but it's not the same if you put two cans at a distance of 2 meters from each other and try to hit them. That's why I think we should be honest in the competition. The more cans we put in a row, the longer the interval between the cans should be. Then it will be more difficult to get in by accident)).

IronGoober, yes, cans crumple, but plastic tubes remain smooth after impacts. And when you go to the sports ground in public transport with a bunch of old beer cans, it causes confusion among people Smiley.

This looks like just as much fun as ErricRice was saying at the down south competition! I'm definitely going to give it a try soon. The bag looks like a good idea Serg. I've wanted to learn to use one for a while now, but it always seemed to get in the way, but I had it over my other shoulder. I'll have to try it your way.
