I see this as well. And it keeps us from coming to productive conversations. Instead it just leads to circular arguments and bickering.
In response to the high jump post the assertion was made that in the olympics you cant use the wrong bow, discus, spear etc. This is fine. Of course we dont want people using glandes with gyroscopes on the inside to ensure perfect spin everytime.
But Jaegoor you have proved me right with that analogy. As Mersa very accurately pointed out many styles of shooting are used in Olympic archery. Style, within reason, is "not" regulated. Equipment is to an extent which I dont think anyone here disagrees with.
So if equipment is the issue you are having a problem with rest assured most agree with you. If it's different throwing styles you have a problem with than Im afraid already established procedure in the Olympics have shown you to be in the extreme minority.
I can't think of a single sport actually where the style of doing that sport is so rigidly regulated as you seem to want. I mean no offense by this and you are welcome to think what you want of me but every sport I can think of the person who uses an unorthodox style and wins is celebrated not shunned.
Heres a few smilies just in case.
