I put a firecracker in a snowball, lit the fuse, and chucked it straight up. It makes a muffled Pwoff! and you get an instant snowstorm.
I
need
to try that. I've been wanting to sling firecrackers into the air during the 4th of July or New Years Eve.

Marshmellows. Actually super awesome ammo.
David the Shepherd always uses them. He claims to have slung them 40 yards before!

So they are! I never thought about that! I always just used foam balls and the like. I haven't had marshmallows in my household for a century though...

The “best” part of using mellows is loosing one and finding a grey, dusty sugar ball behind your bookcase months later.

I keep finding paper balls from my first month of slinging under my couch!

Not that awesome, but i have slung an apple and it went further than i wanted and hit somebody on a bike 60 meters away. (that guy was a friend of mine, who almost laughed himself to death, after i explained to him why he was hit by a flying apple)

Now
that
is quite the story. How hard did it hit?

hard enough to make him fall on the ground, but not hard enough to cause injuries.

Safe rusty balls. Great for indoor slinging. Rather than sand, it's a balled up sock with three balloons over them. Exactly 28g and fault soft.

A Glow-stick, at night. It was pretty impressive, really, because you could see every part of the ind-up and it flew pretty well. The shorter ones work better for this, and if you get the chance, I'd recommend it highly.

Horse chestnut conkers. They fly quite far, and have the added fear factor of being green and very spikey.

I prefer to take them out of the shell first
