Abstract Sling Design Tie Breaker/First Place Winner!
Mar 21st, 2021 at 3:52am

Ok fellow Slingers, we have quite the tie breaker going on. In addition to the first three entries which each got 3 votes apiece, our good man Zud snuck in with a design at the last minute and made it a four way tie breaker. Since Mersa meant to hit #9 that means Zud is at 3 as well.

So here goes nothing, please feel free to tell why you chose what you did, debate the four potential winners, give critiques, and generally campaign for whichever one you feel deserves the win.

There are several very nice prizes needing adopting, so let’s everyone help them find their forever family!

...

#1 -  JudoP- Sling pouch optimization for all size stones.

...

#2 - VetRyan- Feather Sling for increased control.

...

#3 - RatMan- Double barrel side-by-side shotgun sling for smaller spread of projectiles at a distance.

...
#4 - Zud- Whip Sling for instant throws and easier aiming.

...

going with ratman - just love multi pouch designs - and that's only the second one I've ever seen.

The captured pouch staff sling is neat - but I've seen lots of staff slings.

judops, is neat but I can see issues lol

slowing down the release cord with feathers - can;t see how that's a good idea Smiley

Except.........

It's not a staff sling as it's operational length is around 12inches, 30cm.

Release is manual, not automatic.

A staff sling doesn't always require two hands.  Here's one that timpa did.

I voted for Zud as the current version pictured that I posted doesn't work well. It has potential but the middle arm needs to be lengthened to add a little bit of cupping to stop projectiles rocking off to the sides. I may revisit it in time.

Heheh well people can still vote for it if they like the idea, but I feel I should be honest about the current capabilities, plus I'd feel guilty if I won by making a nice looking but ultimately ineffective demonstrator  Grin

There may be hot air generated and teacups with storms in them and on occasions even down right bloody mindedness but I have come to understand slingers have heart. Thank you.

Many thanks to everyone who voted.

Heartfelt thanks for those who voted for me.

The WhipSling will be developed. I have already started reading tutorials and I have ideas for an improved release mechanism.

Cheers,

Zud👍  🦄🎉🌈💐
