Great video Morphy!

One question: is it legal to put a paracord tab on a natural Balearic?  Are you just trying to make the traditionalists squirm? Are you wearing your boots when you sling with it?

Ok that was three questions, but there is a central theme of abominations that defy all tradition... I love it by the way.

For self-explanatory you talk quite a bit.  😂 Sorry that had to be.  😁 Wasn't meant to be angry.

For holding the loop while weaving? If thats what you meant its a good idea. Or if you meant to use it as the tab itself its a great and painful idea.  Wink

Good tutorial! I used a paracord needle that I picked up recently, I like it. The tail end is threaded so you can screw your melted end right into it and it holds perfectly.

Unless I missed it in the tutorial, there is “one weird trick” to getting tight tabs:

Make it like Morphy’s.
Boil some water then remove it from heat and let it stop boiling.
Put the tab in the water and the paracord will shrink slightly and tighten up.

Here is my method. It requires an extra length of cord to weave the tab, a crochet hook and needle/thread (optional).

It's attached to this new sling.

Would finishing it off with two half hitches with the loose end work well enough, or would it be better to whip the loose end to the standing part of the retention cord for even pull on both cords?

given that louis pons uses shredded plastic bags as part of the 'cracker' on his release cords.

I don't think paracord is going to upset anyone Smiley

Either way would work fine. I just don't like whipping because I can't do it right and it always eventually unravels on a release cord.
