Ounep: New Caledonian flexible atlatl

I am trying to follow up on a old post where someone claimed they had made one but it only improved accuracy not distance

Just so we are clear this is what i am referencing

The reason im concerned is elsewhere I have seen people failing to see improvement using the amentum but scholars claiming success in there own empirical studies.

Has anyone actual tested this and saw a improvement in range?

It worked well, not a massive amount of extra power, nothing near an atlatl, but its useful.
