I have to say Im surprised that so few have voted. But I guess every contest has to start somewhere and these are certainly humble beginnings.

Reporting back on the silicone experiments...

I saw a small effect overall, but I still cannot draw a lot of comprehensive conclusions yet about silicone as a friction modifier. I would say that may be more significant as a stiffness modification to a sling or cords. I did collect some A/B data comparing a couple of different treated slings, and the stiffness seems to be more significant than the friction changes. I will need to work on figuring out how to isolate the two effects better though.

Well I know this is rather late but I have an idea...
I would like to call it the Acorn Sling, a sling for lightweight projectiles. My thinking is making a sling with a good cupped pouch, kindoff apache style, and sewing in a little weight. Simply put, a weighted pouch to make the sling easier to control with lightweight projectiles.
Sadly I'm very busy currently with matric and other work etc so I can't make it currently but I would love to experiment in the near future.
And if you want feel free to experiment with this idea.
Wink

It actually works ! I have dry fired it and it feels good. The handle will be shortened  and the next iteration will be fully braided.
I will do my best to post a picture of it being slung before the deadline.
However, my entry.
Please vote for it as I believe it genuinely fills the criteria of being unique and having potential.
Cheers,
Zud.👍
