mad max was really set in 2021 ?

wow - that makes me feel older than I already feel. Sad

Still, if covid had been a lot nastier and killed a much higher percentage of people - it could well have come to pass.
That is a genuinely scary thought !

Covid is currently getting worse than it was before. At least over here. We have the more contagious mutation now. (Thanks UK,  Grin). One mutation that makes it significantly more deadly is all it would take..

We are one mutation away from something the world hasn't seen in a long time. We are seeing more patients right now than we saw during July and the more contagious strain has not even become really prevalent down here as far as I know. .  So the disease is just as deadly but the R0 has increased

The thing I worry the most about is potential brain damage from this disease. Anyways, there's your cheery thought for the day.  Grin You all are most welcome!

Right now apparently the vaccine still works against it. But it's a virus and viruses can mutate very quickly as we have seen.  If there was another mutation which increased its pathogenicity anywhere near the amount of the previous mutation changed its R0 this could be a long winter/spring.

I'm just waiting for war, economic collapse and famine and some type of major attack on the US. I think they are coming.  Such an optimist I know. But hey people stormed the Capitol building, is it really that difficult to believe at this point. Shrug  Roll Eyes

Well, war is the next logical step. I may be lucky that I'm in the arse end of the World no one will want to attack.

But the economic backlash of corruption losing it's funding will create chaos even here. I wish my sons were a bit older and able to take care of themselves.

Right. I feel the same way about my daughter but plan on getting her a big trained dog. Until she's old enough to use a pistol.
