My new PVC Blowgun!
Dec 30th, 2020 at 8:06am

PVC        : British Standard Class 7 uPVC pipe
Bore size : 15mm
Length    : 120cm (slightly shorter than 4 feet)
Darts      : Heat Treated Bike Spoke w/ HDPE Cones

I grew up in this Slinging.Org ever since I was a teen, the members here are extremely friendly and helpful. These hobbies are nostalgic for me, decided to dig them out again! Happen to still remember my login password even after 10 years!

Welcome back!
And that is really cool!
Is it simply a PVC pipe with a mouth piece attached or did you treat it in some way?

Ice smashing!  I love it!  That thing definitely packs a bigger punch than I would have expected.

It's funny you mentioned remembering your password.  I'm logged in almost every day.  But a couple days ago I forgot my password.  It's one of those things where my hands know how to type it more-so than my brain actually knows it.  Had to walk away for a few minutes and try a fresh attempt before I got back in.  Cheesy

It's a modified soda bottle top. Learned from Michael Janich' Breath of Death. But mine is improved by bending over the cut edges, forming a rounded end. It's very comfortable!

Making blowguns illegal is absurd, it's just a pipe and some nails or skewers. By that logic, any cylindrical tube with smooth inner surface should be banned.

Sorry, but it's a pet peeve of mine:  'Yea' isn't the word you want.  It's 'yeah'.  'Yea' is an anachronistic word you see in the King James bible. "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Spellcheck, I shall fear no misspellings for thou art with me.  Thy dictionary and thy thesaurus, they comfort me.

The muzzle break makes it look super cool!

How does weight affect the distance you can shoot a projectile?
I am mostly interested in making a blowgun because I want to shoot clay pellets.

Heavier darts fly better at long range, my flimsy bamboo skewers flies funnily after 10 metres and too light to penetrate. I use the thicker bamboo for that.

You can even shoot wet toilet paper balls! Just 1 piece enough for 1 pellet. I used that to stun cockcroahes off the ceiling. Or to scare off unwanted tom cats fighting for their territory. Harmless painballs.
