Hello from Houston, Texas
Dec 14th, 2020 at 12:47pm

Hello everyone, my name is Mariano and I just recently got into slinging, about a month ago. I'm originally from Argentina and as a result I am very interested in Andean slings and weapons. Since the time I first started slinging I've created a variety of slings of different lengths, mainly using artificial sinew as the cord material and tooling leather for the pouch. Browsing through this forum I saw some posts about Boleadoras so I'd thought I'd post a picture of the ones I created as well. I'm looking forward to being an active member of this forum and meeting all of you.

Excellent slings! Welcome. Andean slings were what first drew me to try woven/braided slings, and now I can't stop making them.

Oh ok. I'm in the League City/Seabrook area. We have quite a few slingers from Tejas. Glad to have you!

We need a meet up of the Texas crew.  I will wear my leather Brokeback thong and half boots. And nothing else.

What material do you use to braid them? I tried using Llama wool yarn but it feels very elastic. Do you also have any in depth resources on how to get designs and patterns in the braids?
